UniGuide – Terms of Service

By accessing or using UniGuide’s websites, applications, and services (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

• You must be 13 years or older to use the Service.
• If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction (e.g., under 18 in many U.S. states), you may use the Service only with permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
• We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts. If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we may delete it.

UniGuide provides organizational tools and educational resources to help users plan, manage, and keep track of college applications (including UC, Common App, and other universities), discover majors, track deadlines, and access helpful links and information. UniGuide does not guarantee admissions outcomes and is not affiliated with any university system, application portal, testing agency, or government entity. Content is provided for informational and educational purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, immigration, or professional counseling.

You’re responsible for:

• Providing accurate registration information;
• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login; and
• All activities that occur under your account.

Tell us promptly about any unauthorized use or security incident.

Do not, and do not let others:

• Break the law or infringe others’ rights;
• Upload or share content that is illegal, harassing, harmful, deceptive, or discriminatory;
• Attempt to access the Service or user data without authorization, probe or scan systems, or disrupt functionality;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or circumvent technical protections;
• Use the Service to cheat or violate school honor codes (e.g., submitting AI-generated or plagiarized essays as your own where prohibited).

You may submit or store content (e.g., notes, tasks, essay drafts, preferences) while using the Service (“User Content”).

• Ownership. You retain ownership of your User Content.
• License to UniGuide. You grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, display, and back up your User Content solely to operate and improve the Service. We won’t sell your User Content.
• Responsibility. You’re responsible for having the rights to the content you upload and for ensuring it does not violate laws or third-party rights.
• Feedback. If you send ideas or suggestions, you agree we may use them without obligation or compensation.

The Service may link to third-party sites or integrate third-party tools (e.g., analytics, authentication, payments). We don’t control third-party services and aren’t responsible for their content or policies. Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms and privacy policies.

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices (including account deletion). By using the Service, you agree to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

• Parental/Guardian Role. Parents/guardians of minors should review and supervise account use.
• No Professional Counseling. Guidance, checklists, and timelines are educational tools, not professional counseling.
• Content Accuracy. Admissions policies and deadlines can change. Always confirm details with official sources (e.g., universities, application portals, scholarship providers).

We may offer optional paid features or subscriptions in the future. Pricing and specific terms will be shown at checkout. By purchasing, you authorize us or our payment processor to charge your selected payment method and agree to any feature-specific terms shown at purchase.

The Service (including logos, design, text, graphics, and software) is protected by IP laws and owned by UniGuide or our licensors. Except as allowed by these Terms or applicable law, you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service.

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you’ve violated these Terms, pose a risk, or if we discontinue the Service. You can stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion per our Privacy Policy.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES - EXPRESS OR IMPLIED - INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any information is accurate, complete, or current.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, UNIGUIDE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR REVENUE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED USD $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

You agree to indemnify and hold UniGuide harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.

We may update or discontinue features at any time. We’ll try to give reasonable notice when practicable.

You agree to comply with all applicable export, sanctions, and compliance laws when using the Service.
